Greg Beeman, born 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, is an Executive Producer and episode director for Falling Skies.
Biography[]
Earlier career[]
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1962, Beeman began his career working on television features in the 1980s. He helmed Little Spies (1986) and License to Drive (1988). He also directed episodes of the series Disneyland in 1986. He became a regular episodic director in television working on The Wonder Years, Eerie, Indiana, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Harts of the West, Nowhere Man and Strange Luck.
He became a regular director for the legal drama JAG in 1995. He joined the crew of Nash Bridges as an episodic director for the first season in spring 1996. He became a producer and regular director for the second season in fall 1996, his first producer credit. He remained in this role for the third season in fall 1997. He left his producer role but continued to direct episodes until the series conclusion.
In 2000 he won a Directors Guild of America award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children's Programs for the television film Miracle in Lane 2.
He became a director and producer for Smallville in 2001 and worked on it throughout its run, working with Sarah Carter, who had a recurring role on the show. After Smallville he has worked as a director and producer on Heroes and Melrose Place.
During Falling Skies[]
He joined the crew of Falling Skies as a Co-Executive Producer and episodic director for the first season in summer 2011. He helmed three first season episodes "The Armory", "Prisoner of War", and the season finale "Eight Hours".
In Fall 2011 he joined the crew of fantasy drama Once Upon a Time as an episodic director. He helmed the series second episode "The Thing You Love Most". He also directed an episode of Touch in the 2011 to 2012 television season.
He returned to Falling Skies in summer 2012. He was promoted to Executive Producer and remained a regular director. He helmed the two part season premiere "Worlds Apart" and "Shall We Gather at the River". He also directed two later episodes "Homecoming" and "A More Perfect Union".
He returned to direct several episodes for Season 3, including the premier and the finale, and continued to direct the premier of Season 4, Ghost in the Machine.
Greg announced after the Season 4 finale that he would not be returning to Falling Skies, and revealed that Olatunde Osunsanmi will fill his role as Executive Producer.
