Rita was a former girlfriend of Hal Mason before the invasion.
Story[]
Season 2[]
At some point prior to the invasion Hal was intimately involved with Rita. Almost 2 years after the invasion Hal told Maggie about his time with Rita and how he thought it was love at first sight when he first saw her dancing. Maggie laughed saying Rita was an old lady's name before Hal commented on her name being an old lady's name as well. Her current fate is unknown.

During Tom's dream, created by Karen to get information out of him, Rita is seen during it. During the morning when Hal is ready to go to school, Rita walks up to him and kisses him and greets Tom and Matt before getting into Hal's car.
