Sam is a militia leader in the first season. He is one of the commanders in the Massachusetts Militias.

"Live and Learn"[]
It is unknown which regiment Sam commands. He was told to take his Regiment toward Revere, MA. And was told he has Jeffries as his second-in-command. Sam was one of the last regiments to retreat from Boston along with Anderson and Daniel Weaver. He, and his Militia's fate is unknown, as the Espheni have wiped out most of the other Militias, it is unknown if Sam's survived.
