General Bressler is the commanding officer of the 1st Continental Army. Not much is known about him before the invasion other than that he must of been in some place of military authority and that his son was killed by skitters, leading to him not trusting the skitter rebellion.

He was responsible for locking up a free de-harnessed kid sent by the skitter leader and served Arthur Manchester loyally untill he betrayed Manchester by arresting him, temporarily disbanding the civilian government, and declaring Martial Law. Some time later, he allowed Arthur Manchester to be released and the civilian government restored on the condition that Manchester resigned as majority leader, which Manchester accepted. After meeting with the skitter leader, he ordered his men to set up and ambush on the skitter rebels and free de-harnessed kids, which was almost succesful, but Red Eye and a couple others got away.

Bressler is confirmed to be returning for Season 3, it has been speculated that his relationship with Tom will be closer as he is seen in the trailer flying an airplane with Tom while being attacked by an airship and is also seen in a behind the scenes clip interacting with him as well..
