Joel Anderson Thompson is an American screenwriter. He was a writer for the first season of Falling Skies, scripting the episode "Sanctuary (Part 1)".

Biography[]

Earlier career[]

He made his television writing debut in 2003 as a Story Editor and writer for the crime drama Boomtown. The show was created by future Falling Skies Executive Producer Graham Yost. Thompson wrote the episode "Home Invasion".

He was a Story Editor and writer for the first season of House in the 2004 to 2005 television season. He wrote the episode "Histories", which is about a sick homeless woman and has the distinction of being one of the very few episodes of the series in which the series lead, Dr. Gregory House, does not cure the patient and she dies. Thompson left the show at the close of the first season.

He joined the crew of Battlestar Galactica as an Executive Story Editor and writer for the second season in 2005. He wrote the episode "Epiphanies".

He also teaches screenwriting at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
