PlotEdit

SummaryEdit

Tom begins having nightmares about the Skitters recapturing him. A parasite is found in Tom's eye, forcing him to question his own loyalty. The 2nd Mass have to find a way to cross a destroyed bridge. Ben offers to cross the river alone to scout the area ahead. He learns that the ships are controlled by a structure ahead. The bridge is fixed and vehicles begin to cross. However, airships begin to approach the 2nd Mass. Ben, Hal, Maggie and Dai blow up the structure controlling them, sending the ships away from the bridge. A swarm of Skitters and Mechs attempt to cross the bridge and attack the fighters. Tom slows them down by firing at them. Tom then runs, attempting to cross back. The 2nd Mass had planned to blow up the bridge. Weaver tries to wait for Tom but Pope detonates. Tom is, again, assumed dead. However, he swims back and the 2nd Mass head to an abandoned airport.

RecapEdit

The story dives quickly into whether or not Tom can be trusted. Unsurprisingly, Tom is the most skeptical out of anyone and feels that the Skitters must have had a reason for letting him go so easily. Weaver’s quick to trust him but Tom still has doubts about himself. And with the 2nd Mass on the move once again, the potential threat he may pose could put everyone at risk.

It is revealed that Tom had a probe in him the entire time, proving his suspicions correct.

Tom's requests restraint and he is bound for his and the group's safety.

Then the battle begins, with the mechs and skitters in pursuit of the Beserkers. All civilians now need to dismount and walk over the brigde to the other side. After that the Med bus gets stuck and needs the help of several fighters to get her rolling again. Tom knew the 2nd Mass needed his help and convinced Matt to untie him. He runs towards the battle and fires the 50. Cal on a GTO, when a skitter tries to attack him at close range. This skitter is killed by Matt, carrying a M4 or M16. Meanwhile Dai has taken out the beamer outpost, which orders the beamers to move on.

The ongoing firefight between Tom and the Skitters on the other side of the bridge prevented the 2nd Mass from blowing the bridge, as Weaver didn't want to hurt Tom. Pope grabbed the detonator and blew the bridge with Tom still on the bridge. After a brief altercation between Pope and a grief stricken Hal a presumed dead Tom emerges from the river, revealing he escaped the blast.
